Growth Comparison Between Different Strains of Gynogentic Silver Carp and Silver Carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix)

The paper deals with growth comparison between different strains of gynogenetic silver carp and common silver carp at age 1 under the same culture condition in ponds. The results showed it was not significantly different between gynogenetic silver carp strain 1 and strain 2. There were average significant difference between the hybridism strain and gynogenetic silver carp strain 1 or strain 2. The growth was faster for gynogenetic silver carp strains than that for common silver carp. The average standard length increased by 7 % , the average weight increased by 14 % , there were significant differences in standard length and body weight (P 0. 01) . The growth was the fastest for the gynogenetic silver carp hybridism strain. The average body weight increased by 23. 8 % , the average standard length for the hybridism strain was 12. 4 % larger than that for common silver carp and there was extremely signficant difference (P 0. 05) . The lower the density was, the larger the weight increasement was. The body for gynogenetic carp was deeper than that for common silver carp in the same standard length.
