In this work, the Fe-Ni alloy electroplating were studied by selecting the sulphate system with a small amount of buffer additive, using the direct current (DC) method, the galvanostatic pulse (PC) method and the asymmetric alternating current (AAC) method. The influences of the three kinds of current wave types on the plating quality have been investigated. It is shown that the asymmetric alternating current (AAC) electroplating is preferred for the Permalloy (i. e. the Fe-Ni alloy containing 20% Fe) electroplating. The influence of the current wave type on the deposition process has also been studied.
