Research progresses of coronary fractional flow reserve

Fractional flow reserve(FFR) is a well-established functional index for assessment of the ischemic severity of coronary stenosis and the necessity for performing revascularization.FFR-guided percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) might improve composite outcomes compared with anatomy-guided PCI.However,the invasiveness and expensive cost of FFR measurement greatly restrict its clinical application.FFR has been made up,to a certain extent,deficiencies in the field of evaluating functional myocardial ischemia and hemodynamic of coronary artery.The research status and development of FFR were reviewed in this article.
