The Development of Adolescent Student Burnout Inventory

Objective:Based upon literature and research work,a preliminary questionnaire was designed to measure adolescent student burnout.Methods:573 middle school students,321 high school students,were included in the first measurement,and then,developed the Adolescent Student Burnout Inventory(ASBI) which contains 16 items.3386 students from four different provinces were included in the second measurement.Results:Confirmatory Factor Analysis confirmed that the Adolescent Student Burnout Inventory comprised three dimensions:exhaustion,learning cynicism,and reduced efficacy.Conclusion:Internal consistency analyses and correlation analyses showed that ASBI had suitable reliability and high validity.
