Analysis on cephalosporins used in our hospital from 2006 to 2008

Objective: To observe the application of cephalosporins in our hospital and offer the rational use for the clinical. Methods: The cephalosporins used in the hospital from 2006 to 2008 were analyzed in respect of kinds, consumption sum, DDDs and DDDc. Results: The consumption sum and its proportion of the cephalosporins increased year by year; the third generation of cephalosporins for injection were the biggest proportion on DDDs and decreased in 3 years, the first generation of cephalosporins were the main ones for oral and the second generation of cephalosporins for oral increased greatly. Conclusion: The application of cephalosporins is reasonable basically in the hospital, but application on the third generation of cephalosporins is too much, which need to be controlled.
