Study on the Extraction and Purification of Chlorogenic Acid in Eucommia ulmoides Oliv. Leaves

Objective To study the optimum extraction and purification process for chlorogenic acid in Eucommia ulmoides Oliv.Leaves.Methods The process was carried out by water extraction,1% chitosan flocculation,actived char decolorization,NKA-9 resin adsorption,50% ethanol desorption and methanol recrystallization.Results The extracting ratio of chlorogenic acid was 68% with purity of 97%.Conclusion An optimum and improved technology for the extraction and purification of chlorogenic acid in Eucommia ulmoides Oliv.Leaves was investigated.It is helpful to industrial production of chlorogenic acid.
