Molecular Mechanism of Photoperiodic Response Controlling Flowering Time in Plant

Flowering time in plant changes seasonally in response to daylength,the molecular mechanism about the seasonal change of flowering time is revealed by isolation of genes related to photoperiod response in Arabidopsis and rice.Measurement of daylength in plant is controlled by the expression of CONSTANS(CO).CO can integrate the light signal into circadian clock and regulates the expression of FLOWERING LOCUS T(FT) which induced floral.Here we review the significant advances about plant photoperiodic response controlling flowering time.
