Water Eutrophication Assessment and Its Countermeasures for Shahu Lake

The water eutrophication in Shahu Lake was evaluated comprehensively by using trophic status index in this paper.The results showed that the water eutrophication in Shahu Lake became serious gradually and it had changed from the light eutrophication in 2002 to mesotrophication in 2005.Phosphors and organic pollutants were the limiting factors to water eutrophication in Shahu Lake.The results of eutrophication analysis showed that internal pollution sources and external pollution sources were the main causes for water eutrophication in Shahu Lake.Especially the water supply from Yellow River and surface runoff were the main external pollution sources.According to the analysis,some countermeasures were suggested to control the water eutrophication in Shahu Lake finally.
