Syntheses of Symmetrical Biaryls by Cyclopalladated Ferrocenylimine catalyzed Ullmann-type Coupling Reaction

Cyclopalladated ferrocenylimine was tested as catalyst in the Ullmann-type coupling reaction in the presence of i Pr2 NEt as base and DMF as solvent under Ar conditions.It offered excellent yields in the coupling reaction of electronically and structurally diverse aryl iodides.Herein we have developed a simple,efficient way to synthesize symmetrical biaryls.
