摘要
Cover Picture. Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth. (Lamiaceae), also known as patchouli, is an edible herb which is widely used in pharmaceutical and food industries. Patchouli is regarded as one of the top ten Cantonese herbal medicine which are from Lingnan Region of China, and has been widely used as a traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of vomit, diarrhea and headache. A pair of new glycosidic epimers, cablinoses A (1a) and B (1b) were isolated from the leaves of Pogostemon cablin. The structures were determined by spectroscopic analysis including 1D and 2D NMR and high resolution spectrometry, and quantum chemical ECD calculations. The epimer mixture 1 showed α-glucosidase inhibitory activity, as reported by X.-J. Huang et al. in their full paper at 10.1002/cbdv.201900137.
