Anderson-Hynes Pyeloplasty in the Treatment of Congenital Hydronephrosis Among Children

Fifty-four cases(64 kidneys) of congenital hydronephrosis are reported. Their ages ranged from 3 months to 13 years，There were 36 males and 18 females. The Anderson-Hynes Pyeloplasty was performed on 53 patients(63 kidneys).One patient underwent nephrectomy because of nephrapostasis. Operations were all successful. All patients underwent the AndersonHynes pyeloplasty were followed up for 0.5～10 years.Their abdominal pain and discomfort disappeared，and their hydronephrosis improved.The Anderson-Hynes pyeloplasty might be the best operation while the nephrostomy be unnecessary for this disease. The authors emphasize that operation should be performed as early as possible and a supporting-tube should be placed to prevent angulation. Key words: Kidney pelvis; Hydronephrosis; Pyeloplasty
