The Effects of Dandelion on Inflammatory Mediators and SOD in Mice with Acute Lung Injury

[Objective]The aime was to study the effects of of aqueous extract of dandelion on inflammatory mediators and anti-oxidative capacity in mice with acute lung injury induced by lipopolysaccharide.[Method] Models of ALI were established by intranasal instillation of LPS,mice were randomly divided into control group,model group,dandelion(2.5,5.0,10.0 mg/kg) groups and dexamethasone(0.5 mg/kg) group.SOD activity of the lung tissues was determined,INF-γ,NO and PGE2 levels in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF) were measured.[Result] The results showed that different concentrations of aqueous extract of dandelion could enhance the release of SOD in lung tissues,and decreased the content of information media of INF-γ,NO and PGE2 levels in BALF in ALI mice.[Condusion]The study provided the theovetical basis for the development and utilization of dandelion.
