Aramid fiber is one of the fibers which are of high-strength, high-modulus and high-temperature-resis-tance properties. In this paper, the structure and performance of interposition and para-aramid fibers as well as current various kinds of function aramid fabrics that are made based on its fiber properties are introduced. It is also pointed out that the development direction of aramid fiber should be higher mechanical properties, probably reaching about E=130~170 GPa, σb=60~90 GPa, and more function characteristic, especially being able to resist 500~600 ℃. It is expected that aramid function fabrics would have better properties through its fiber modification, so as to gain broader application.
