A New Method for Synthesis of NButyl Maleimide

A study was made on the catalytic effects of Ac2O/Et3N/NiSO4, such as catalyst amount, reaction temperature, reactant ratio and time, on the yield in synthesis of Nbutyl maleimide. The reaction conditions were optimized and the recovery was over 88%. Compared with traditional acid catalysis, the present method has some advantages such as relatively moderate reaction conditions and higher yield.
