The flow structure of the coaxial stirred tank was simulated by using computational fluid dynamics(CFD) technology,and the mixing time was also investigated with CFD and contrasted with the experimental data.All the research confirmed the feasibility of CFD simulation means.Three kinds of improved impellers were proposed because of the shortcoming of the current agitators.The new stirred tanks were simulated with CFD.It shows that Impeller III needs the minimum mixing time,then Impeller II and Impeller I;the power consumption for Impeller Ⅲ is the highest,and the power consumptions for Impeller I and Impeller Ⅱ are less than that of existing impellers.
