Objective To explore the relationship of weight gain during pregnancy and dietary nutrition and the knowledge of weight gain, to provide guidance for managing gestational weight and nutrition. Methods 100 pregnant women were investigated with self-designed questionnaire focusing on gestational dietary and weight gain. These pregnant women were divided into three groups according to weight gain during pregnancy-low, normal and high weight gain group. ANOVA was used to explore the difference of dietary nutrition and knowledge of weight gain among the groups. Results Of the 100 pregnant women surveyed, 60% had high weight gain, 25% had normal weight gain and 15% had low weight gain. The dietary scores of the normal and low weight gain group were significantly higher than the high weigh gain group ( P < 0.01 ), but the scores of weight gain knowledge had no statistically difference among the groups (P > 0.05). Conclusions It is important to strengthen nutritional guidance and take effective supervision measures on weight gain during pregnancy.
