THEORETICAL MODEL OF PSYCHOLOGICAL READINESS OF A PERSON FOR DECISION-MAKING

The article explores the necessity of maintaining activity in the modern VUCAworld (Volatility Uncertainty Complexity Ambiguity world). The authors substantiate the theoretical model of a person’s psychological readiness to make decisions. The attention is focused on the need to develop a subjective position regarding one’s own life, which requires an understanding of life situations and decision-making for its successful implementation. The need to use the correct phrase “decision-making” in accordance with the norms of the Ukrainian language was justified. Features of the psychological analysis of the concept of decision-making are revealed. The authors emphasized that the basic meaning of the concept of “decision-making” is the psychological activity of the subject who is aware of the current or predicted situation and makes the appropriate choice of an idea aimed at overcoming the uncertainty and multivariate nature of the situation. Based on the definitional analysis, the specificity of the interdisciplinary interpretation of the concept of psychological readiness was revealed. It is determined that the characteristics of the personality and their manifestations in activities aimed at achieving the expected results are the basis, and the key characteristics are success, mobilization, and independence. The psychological readiness of the individual is presented as a complex system, the system-forming elements of which are the subject, his mental states, stable personality properties, and formed psychological formations (neoformations) that carry out mobilization and regulation of activity. The integration of the general interpretation of decision-making processes and individual readiness into the theoretical model of the psychological readiness of the individual for decision-making was carried out. It was determined that the original content of this concept sets the basis for its formation, namely: the ability to mobilize purposefully formed competences, values, psychological properties of the individual and acquired experience in the context of the situation, appropriate actions accompanied by reflection and awareness of responsibility ensures success decision-making in accordance with social and cultural norms.
