OBJECTIVE: To evaluate and compare the effectiveness and safety of linezolid and teicoplanin in the treatment of Gram-positive(G+) cocci infection. METHODS: In randomized controlled open clinical study, patients with G+ cocci infection were selected. 100 patients involved were divided into 2 groups, linezolid group(50 cases) were administered with linezolid 600 mg every 12 h for 7~28 days, and teicoplanin group(50 cases) were administered with teicoplanin 400 mg every 24 h for 7~28 days via ivgtt. Adverse drug reaction and therapeutic efficacy were investigated in 2 groups. RESULTS: In linezolid group, the effective rate was 96%, pathogenic bacteria eradication rate was80% and the incidence of adverse drug reactions was 16%. In teicoplanin group, above indexes were 84%,68%,12%, respectively. There were significant differences in the effective rates and pathogenic bacteria eradication rates between 2 groups(P0.05). CONCLUSION: Linezolid is superior to teicoplanin in the treatment of G+ cocci infection.
