Duodenum-preserving resection of pancreatic head(DPPHR) retains the continuity of stomach,duodenum and biliary ducts.The operation is safe and it reduces the injury and excision scope.This procedure can be used in benign and low malignant lesions in the head and neck of the pancreas.The anatomical basis of duodenal pancreatic head resection, indications,operative problems and prevention of postoperative complications were described in this paper.
