Abstract The synthesis of N‐ethylbenzylamine from benzylamine and ethanol in the presence of an acid catalyst has been carried out under pressure. Under optimum conditions (497 K, 6.3417 MPa, residence period 1 h, benzylamine to ethanol mol ratio 1:3 and benzylamine to hydrochloric acid mol ratio 1:1), the conversion of benzylamine to N‐ethylbenzylamine is 78.39%.
