A spark calorimeter

This note describes the design of a spark calorimeter suitable for routine use. Wherever possible commercially available parts have been used to facilitate construction and minimise cost. Compared with existing methods of calorimetry, the present design possesses the important advantage of enabling the heat released by single sparks to be measured.
