On experience in the creation of “Berdiansk Encyclopedia”

The study describes the appearance features of the “Berdiansk Encyclopedia”, the main directions of its preparation, the search for materials for articles, the involvement of authors, the assistance of local lore studies are showed. An attention is paid to changing the edition format from alphabetical encyclopedia (1-3 volumes) on thematic yearbook-encyclopedia.
