The Kinematics Model of Thumb Carpometacarpal Joint Based on Muscle-control

A thumb bone model and a muscle-control mechanism of thumb carpometacarpal joint is presented for the complexity of thumb. The model which based on hand anatomy considers the particularity of thumb carpometacarpal joint in detail. The thumb carpometacarpal joint can move flexibly through shrinking virtual thumb muscles. Experiments show that the surround motion of the thumb carpometacarpal joint can be simulated vividly by the new mechanism.
