Objective To develop a new method for the preparation of a solid inclusion compound and investigate the effects of temperature,time,crystallinity of β-cyclodextrin on inclusion compound formation by the heating method.Method A mixture of benzoic acid(BA) and β-cyclodextrin was sealed in a container,and heated at the desired temperature for the specified time.Results The results indicate that BA molecules were included in the β-cyclodextrin cavity by sealed heating.The results also revealed that mixing ratio,temperature,time,crystallinity of β-cyclodextrin are important parameters which affect the formation of inclusion compound by the sealed heating method.Conclusions BA is included in β-cyclodextrin molecules by heating at (90 ℃) for (3 h) in ampoules,and amorphous β-cyclodextrin system shows higher combing ratio than the crystalline β-cyclodextrin system.
