Research Progress of Pathogenesis of Viral Myocarditis

Viral myocarditis is a disease caused by multiple viruses. It is a kind of local or diffuse denaturation and necrosis of myocardial,accompanied by inflammatory cell infiltration,which will lead to myocardial injury,cardiac dysfunction and arrhythmia. Most patients can recover without sequelae,but a subset of patients will progress to chronic inflammatory and dilated cardiomyopathy. Currently,the pathogenesis of viral myocarditis still remains unclear,which mainly includes virus invasion,immune responses,the interactions of cytokines,apoptosis and reactive oxygen species. Here is to make a review of the research progress in pathogenesis of viral myocarditis.
