New Method of Synthesis for o-Nitroanisole

In the presence of ethanonitrile and polyethylene glycol, anisole reacts with ammonium ceric nitrate to form o-nitroanisole. The results show that when the molar ratio of anisole to ammonium ceric nitrate is 5:5.5; reaction temperature 50℃; and reaction time 2?h; the yield of o-nitroanisole is 63.3%.
