Comorbidity of depression and insomnia is a prevalent clinical condition involving psychiatric disorders and sleep disturbances, which severely impairs patients’ quality of life. Nevertheless, existing studies lack systematic collation and summary of the intervention characteristics of acupuncture for depression complicated with insomnia. This scoping review evaluates acupuncture intervention protocols, including types of acupuncture intervention, acupoint selection and clinical treatment courses.
