摘要
The aim of this paper is to design and analyze a ship floating dry-dock. A ship floating dry-dock is a structure that can be submerged to permit the entry and docking of a ship and then be raised to lift the ship from the water for repairs or maintenance. Advancements in ship floating dry docks and transfer systems enable the floating to meet new requirements of launching and repairing the vessels and are very important in today’s shipping. This paper aims to prepare a design of a ship floating dry dock with a length 250 ms for two types of the hull which are the monohull and the twin hull types and also to compare the ballast water displacement of both hulls. The innovations lie in separating the docking process from the maintenance platform and the ballast water displacement analysis is performed by using the Maxsurf software. This study will include details of the general arrangement and stability requirement.
