Effect of Inert Particles Properties on Performance of Spouted Bed Dryers

Design rules for spouted bed dryers with inert particles are given to control size and size distribution of a dry material when changing the size and shape of inert particles as well as the material from which they are made. Implications on product quality, solids separation from the exhaust air, and energy requirements are discussed based on inert particles made of Teflon and stainless steel.
