Progress of research on the culture of common fastidious bacteria.

Streptococcus,Neisseria gonorrhoeae,and Haemophilus influenzae are common fastidious bacteria.Culture conditions for these bacteria are stringent,and low numbers of clinical isolates are obtained.This article summarizes topics like improvements in the composition of media to culture fastidious bacteria,assessments of growth,and directions for future research over the last few years.
