A Research on Spatial Patterns and Development Trajectory of the Elderly Population in the Metropolis——Taking Beijing,Shanghai,Guangzhou and Wuhan as Examples

Taking Beijing,Shanghai,Guangzhou and Wuhan asexamples,the GIS-based research discusses the patternsand social-spatial types of the elderly distribution and analyzes trajectoriesof spatial development.With rapid aging in China,suburbanization and social space differentiation of the elderly in metropolis trend to accelerate.It is found that cities share common characteristic:The elderly population spread outward from the city center,and gradually descending to the fringe,spread to outer suburbs and form the growth pole in local area.
