Using polyethylene-vinyl acetate(EVA) as the substrate, the different content of ethylene-octene copolymer(POE) and maleic anhydride(MAH) grafted ethylene-octene copolymer(POE)composite foam material was prepared by chemical foam method. The impact of POE on the foaming behavior and mechanical properties of EVA foam material were studied. The results showed that with the increasing of POE content, the flexibility of the foam material increased and the compression reduced, but the tensile and tear strength reduced. On the other hand, the cell diameter reduced and cell density increased, the best performance cell diameter was 79.2 μm when POE content was 30 %.However, with the increasing of POE-g-MAH content, the foam tensile, tear strength and abrasion resistance significantly increased. On the other hand, the cell diameter further reduced and cell density increased. When the content between 30 %-40 %,the performance of maleic anhydride grafted POE foam material was the best, which the cell diameter was 68.1 μm.
