An attempt has been made to find the effect of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) on the Open Circuit Voltage (OCV), Power production and Coulombic efficiency of single – chambered Microbial Fuel Cells (MFCs). Three different MFCs of similar design have been fabricated using carbon paper doped with platinum as cathode and graphite as anode separated by Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM).It has been found that the Open Circuit Voltage (OCV), power production and Coulombic efficiency obtained are in direct proportion with COD level.
