This chapter highlights that effective analytics communication strategy is the ability to convey findings to stakeholders, making sure that the message is tailored to the audience's role and responsibility. Effective communications is an undervalued analytics tool and sometimes analysts may not be great communicators. Effective communication entails packaging a core message that reflects analytics’ overall objective strategy, findings, purpose, and mission to convince key stakeholders and prepare them to embrace analytics and execute on the findings. It helps frame the scope of analytics and set expectations for each stakeholder. An analytics communications plan should synchronize organizational units and align resources to deliver a common core message from analytics. Effective analytics communication always provides a clear answer to a business question, not merely another piece of data. To be effective, analytics should have a navigator who helps ensure smooth communication between stakeholders and the analytics group. The key to assessing, managing, and harnessing data intelligence lies in the ability to effectively communicate analytics to decision makers. Winning with analytics requires effective analytics communication at all levels of the organization.
