To reduce aircraft block fuel, OEMs need to establish a quantitative relationship between aircraft-level parameters such as lift-to-drag ratio, weight, and specific fuel consumption, and system-level parameters. A fuel consumption method based on the power system is studied. More details regarding aircraft fuel consumption due to power system fixed weight and shaft power extraction from the engine are described across flight stages. The example of Flight 1422 with B737-800 is calculated and analyzed. This method can be utilized to quantitatively analyze the fuel consumption impact of the power system when OEMs optimize the fuel consumption of aircraft gear blocks. Additionally, it provides a method for calculating fuel consumption in the early stages of design, facilitating the trade-off of the power system's full lifecycle economic solution.
