摘要
Lithium (Li) dendrites often grow on the surface of graphite anode of lithium-ion batteries during charging process, particularly under harsh conditions such as high currents, high voltages (i.e., high state of charge), and low temperatures. Dendrites cause capacity fade, short-circuit, and eventually fire hazard.Addressing the dendrites-related problems, various strategies have been developed, including the formation of a stable solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) layer, modification of separator and/or electrode, etc. Herein, we will present the interfacial control technique using designed electrolyte formulation that stabilizes the SEI layer of anode and thus prevents Li dendrites. Stabilized SEI layer induces to improve the cycle life of high-nickel based Li-ion batteries and enables faster charging than conventional 0.3 C (charged in 3.3 h) under harsh conditions. In the meeting, the correlation between performance and interface stability will be discussed.
