摘要
Water is considered a green solvent. Through the process of electrosynthesis, which combines the domains of chemistry and energy, renewable resources progressively take the place of fossil fuels as the primary raw materials utilized in the chemical industry. The conversion of biomass, water splitting, CO 2 reduction, and waste water disposal in aqueous media are among the well-known applications of modern electrochemistry. Water has been introduced as an additive or a co-solvent in electrochemical organic synthesis processes. Establishing electroorganic procedures that can be performed in an aqueous solution is the main focus of this chapter. We show that although the use of water may impose certain constraints, the use of an aqueous reaction medium opens up new opportunities for organic electrosynthesis. In this chapter, the authors will go over the fundamentals of electro-catalysis, electrochemical organic transformations in water, and applications of these compounds for different purposes.
