Perovskites are interesting compounds due to their fascinating optical, physical, biochemical, electronics, and optoelectronics properties. Their unique sensitivity, selectivity, and long-term stability make them a potential candidate for various applications. The exceptional hydration-dehydration, electronic transition, adsorption-desorption, phase transition, and ion intercalaltion-decalation suggest their high potential for sensor applications. This chapter covers studies about the structure of perovskite, synthesis of perovskite, fabrication of effective sensors; we then highlight their application in sensing of temperature change, humidity, gases, and explosive nitro compounds.
