Objective To investigate the changes of serum C-reactive protein( CRP) before and after chemotherapy in patients with tumor recurrence. Methods Thirty-six patients with tumor recurrence received chemotherapy,immune turbidimetric method was used for the quantitative determination of serum CRP value,the changes of serum CRP before and after chemotherapy were analyzed. Results CRP detection of 36 patients with tumor recurrence before chemotherapy showed that,30 cases were positive,6 cases were negative,and 19 cases of effective chemotherapy,17 cases of eventually invalid chemotherapy. CRP values of patients with effective chemotherapy decreased significantly compared with those before chemotherapy,there were significant differences. CRP values of patients with ineffective chemotherapy increased significantly compared with those before chemotherapy,there were significant differences. Conclusion The curative effect of chemotherapy in patients with tumor recurrence is negatively correlated with serum CRP changes,elevated CRP levels indicates poor prognosis after chemotherapy. CRP can be used as reference indexes of the efficacy of chemotherapy in patients with tumor recurrence.
