Studies on the Leaf Curing Characteristics of Flue-Cured TobaccoI.Relationships between the Free Water, Bound Water and the Variety, Stalk Position, Maturity

This paper aimed to study the leaf curing characteristics of flue cured tobacco,K326 and Cuibi1.Based on penetration theory,the different concentrations of the tobacco leafs tissue soaked in syrup or not were measured by abarefractor.The contents of free water and bound water were also calculated.The result shows that the bound water content in the leaf of Cuibi1 is significant higher than that of K326,but free water content is lower;the free water in the lower leaves of the plant is higher than that in the upper leaves of the pant,but the bound water content tends towards contrary;the moisture content,such as free water,bound water,tissue water,in the leaves is decreased gradually from the unripe stage to the over ripe stage.
