Influence of Sodium Hexametaphosphate on Slime Flotation and Tailing Sedimentation

The influence of Sodium hexametaphosphate on ash reducing in flotation and settling situation of flotation tailings were investigated,through the measurement of Zeta potential and solution ionic,and the experiment of flotation and free settling. The results show that,the adding moderate amount of sodium hexametaphosphate in flotation lowers the ash content and increases the yield of flotation concentrate. However,with the increase of sodium hexametaphosphate amount, the water hardness of flotation tailing would be decreased,and the surface electronegativity of fine particles enhanced, reducing the settling velocity of flotation tailings.
