Catalyst-free N-formylation of amines using BH3NH3 and CO2 under mild conditions

Formamides were produced by the catalyst-free N-formylation of amines using CO₂ as the C₁ source and BH₃NH₃ as the reductant under mild conditions in good to excellent yields.
