Kriterium für spezifische zwischenmolekulare Effekte in Nichtelektrolyt-Flüssigkeiten: die Oberflächenspannung / Criterion for Specific Intermolecular Forces in Nonelectrolyte Fluids: The Surface Tension

The surface tension of fluid nonelectrolytes is calculated using an approximation which refers to the intermolecular dispersion forces solely. In the cases of coincidence of calculated (σ* 20) and experimental (σ20 exp) values there are no specific intermolecular forces (owing to H-Bonds, Multipoles) . In the cases σ* 20 ≠ σ20 exp the existence of specific intermolecular forces must be supposed. An index A ≡ 10 · log (σ20 exp/σ* 20) is proposed to characterize the intensity of specific intermolecular forces in fluid nonelectrolytes.
