<title>Long-life filmed microchannel plate</title>

A new type of filmed microchannel plate (MCP) is described which as been optimized for use in third generation image tubes. The glass structure is specially formulated for high temperature processing and superior electrical characteristics. The technique for preparing ion barrier film at the input of MCP has no effect on the electric performance of MCP.
