From the background of a supply chain based on third-party logistics, the roles of sharing information in a supply chain operated in two kinds of environments are compared in this paper. Four areas of sharing information in the operation of a supply chain are designed. The requirements of sharing information and their characteristics in the four areas are analyzed. For the four areas of sharing information, three models and fives structures are proposed, and their characteristics are also analyzed. At the end of the paper, a case is discussed.
