An Experimental Research of Rayleigh Wave Based on the Acoustic-electric Conversions Effect

Summary Based on acoustic-electric conversions theory, the ultrasonic experiment of Rayleigh surface wave field is studied. In the study, the acoustic source is an ultrasonic transducer, and however, the acoustic receivers are replaced by electrodes to measure the acoustic – electric signals. The experimental results show that the center frequency of acoustic – electric signals is consistent with the acoustic-acoustic signals, the spectrum of the former is, however, significantly broaden, which greatly improves the signal resolution in the time domain. And also the size of the receivers are reduced from centimeters with acoustic transducers to millimeters with the electrodes, which effectively enhances the accuracy of observation. The experiment research verified the feasibility of the Rayleigh wave field modeling based on the acoustic-electric conversions effects.
