The trend of energy consumption intensity and its influencing factors are focus of academia,but current literature always cares about energy consumption intensity of the whole nation or individual province,there is little study on energy consumption intensity difference in eastern,central and western China.In this paper,panel co-integration theory is employed to study regional difference in long-term relationship between energy consumption intensity and variables representing economic growth,it is found the enery price,science and technology input and ratio of heavy industry are the common factors influencing energy consumption intensity in all regions,however,economic development scale,energy consumption structure and industry structure have different inflence in eastern,central and western China.It is recommended that energy saving policy should be drawn up according to concrete conditions of different regions.
