Estimating the Number of Wideband Sources Based on Sub-band Averaging

A method of estimating the number of coherent wideband sources has been proposed.At first,Subsection the array outputs and using the FFT,it can get some narrow-band signals.Then every narrow-band signal is processed separately.Finally,the number of wideband sources can be determined by synthetizing the result of all the narrow-band signals.Using the spatial smooth techniques,it can also process coherent wideband sources.Computer simulation confirms the methods availability.
