Objective:To investigate the value of hysterosalpingography (HSG) in the diagnosis of infertility. Methods:Hysterosalpingographic and clinical materials of 132 cases with infertility were collected and analyzed retrospectively. Results:Among 132 cases, abnormal findings of uterus and fallopian tubes resulting in infertility were 19.7% and 52.45% respectively. Of 264 fallopian tubes, complete patency was seen in 129 tubes(48.86%), partial obstruction in 67 tubes(25.38%),complete obstruction in 68 tubes(25.76%).24 h later after hysterosalpingography, the X-ray signs were indicated as following: large quantities of completely dispersed contrast medium were seen in pelvic cavity in 21 cases (15.91%),partially un-dispersed contrast medium in 44 cases(33.33%), no contrast medium in 20 cases(15.15%).There existed dispersed contrast medium in pelvic cavity and remanet of contrast medium in fallopian tubes among 22 cases(16..67%);There were few contrast medium in pelvic cavity and no remanet of contrast medium in fallopian tubes among 17 cases (12.88%);There were seen mass-like contrast medium in pelvic cavity rather than dispersed one in 8 cases(6.06%).Conclusion:Hysterosalpingography not only can make the whole morphologic form of uterine cavity and fallopian tubes clearly , but also can exactly estimate their abnormal changes and patent features. Therefore , it can be concluded that HSG is a preferred and indispensable method for diagnosing female infertility.
