Buchwald‐Hartwig Amination

Abstract The transition metal (palladium) catalyzed cross‐coupling between aryl halides or pseudohalides (triflates) and primary or secondary amines to form aromatic amines is generally known as the Buchwald–Hartwig amination. The source of palladium for this coupling reaction, is usually Pd(OAc) 2 or Pd2dba 3 tri(dibenzylideneacetone)dipalladium). This reaction can be extended to synthesize aryl ethers and has wide application in the preparation of arylamines, nucleotide derivatives, tetracyclic systems, etc.
